Hitler needed only one big lie to rule Germany. The Christian Coalition, it seems, needs no less than twenty of them in order to try to rule America. Those twenty big lies, in no particular order:
 | They, and only they, reflect "traditional American values". |
| They, and only they, are moral. |
| Homosexuals are pedophiles. |
| They oppose abortion for the same reasons they opposed slavery. (Many of the Coalition member churches came into existence in order to maintain slavery in America!) |
| The "family values" of a Newt Gingrich are better than those of a George McGovern. (McGovern is a war hero and married to the same woman for 40 years). |
| The bible demands school prayer. (Jesus would have reviled the idea). |
| The country is in moral collapse. (Crime is NOT "higher than ever". It was far worse in 1930) |
| The Founding Fathers were actually Coalition types. (who never mentioned religion in the Constitution, except to forbid religious tests for public office and forbid any church from a privileged position.) |
| Anyone who opposes the Coalition is a "radical leftist" who "hates Christianity" |
| They can see to the needs of the poor better than the country can. |
| They can "solve" all social problems, including crime, drug use, and, in the eyes of some of the vilest members of the Coalition, minorities. |
| Evolution is a religion, and Creationism is a science. |
| They don't have "Situational Ethics", and thus are morally better. |
| The Sixties morally destroyed the nation. (The Sixties were antiauthoritarian. Satan himself is more comforting to these social retentives than antiauthoritarians are!) |
| All political liberals are agnostics and seculars. |
| All agnostics and seculars are atheists. |
| Jesus was a supply-side capitalist... |
| Who would have disdained helping the poor as "Welfare statism" |
| Coalitioners are a "persecuted minority"... |
| Who nonetheless represent 90% of all Americans. |
